The Tarrant County city of Arlington TX is known as the ‘Home of the Texas Rangers.’ We’re talking about the baseball team here, not the guys that ride around on horses with guns. In all seriousness, both Rangers organizations are highly respected, and Arlington is one of the premier cities in the Lone Star State. Here are three top attractions that you and your family might want to stop by when you make your way to Arlington TX.
Keep in mind that you’re also a hop, skip and a jump away from both Fort Worth and Dallas. That being said, let’s look at the first place of interest in Arlington. It’s called River Legacy Park, and it is a total of 1300 acres. It features great nature trails and also a science center, for starters. You will also find picnic areas and a nice playground there. Make your way to 703 NW Green Oaks Boulevard & Cooper Street, and you will find River Legacy Park.
You can also visit the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame when in Arlington. This museum is located at 621 Six Flags Drive, and the Hometown Heroics exhibit is one of the favorites. You will see all kinds of interesting memorabilia there, and you will also find a great gift shop. You can even bowl a little when you are done touring the museum and everything it has to offer.
Arlington Highlands is another area of the city that you might want to explore. There is a comedy club there for entertainment, and you’re also going to find what’s called a world market, a great outdoor mall. This area of Arlington is right along I-20 at the corner of Center Street and Matlock Road. What’s more is you will also find some great restaurants in Arlington Highlands, making this an all around wonderful stop to make when you’re on vacation in the area.
The Home of the Rangers sounds like a lot of fun, right? You’re going to find much more than just the places mentioned, but you’re off to a great start in terms of things to do. You will have fun making your way around the city, checking out all the great sites. Don’t forget to catch a baseball game if you enjoy doing that and its in season. It would be cool to watch the Rangers in action, and it’s going to vacation in Arlington TX.
